Most Scouts who go hiking at Shiloh would like to bring home a Shiloh Trails patch or medal as a souvenier of their experience.

There are at least ten organized hiking trails at Shiloh National Military Park, ranging in length from two miles to 20 miles.

AT LEAST THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE HIKE contact ShilohMilitaryTrails.Org, and order a unit application, reading materials, hiking instructions, and your question/answer sheets.

Each patch or medal requires a Scout to fill out the answers to a series of questions which can be found only along the particular Shiloh trail he has chosen to hike.

Shiloh Military Trails is a volunteer group, and is not operated or staffed by the Shiloh National Military Park. This volunteer group exists to promote the park, and operates independently of the National Park System.
Maps of the Shiloh trials can be found at this site.

The first stop of any Shiloh hiking trip should be the Visitor's Center at the park. The staff is very knowledgable, and they have a 20 minute film that will help visitors understand the flow of the battle and the events that occurred there.

As with any historic site, the better your advance preparation, the better your hiking experience.
